Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu is based in Istanbul, Turkey and forms the football umbrella of the parent multi-sport club of the same name. The club hosts its home games in Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, also known as Ulker Stadium, which has an almost 50,000 capacity. For its nickname, the team is informally known as ‘Fener’ (short for Fenerbahce). The side also goes by Sari Kanaryalar, Turkish for yellow canaries.

Fenerbahce debuted their 2023/24 home shirt in style, wearing them in their 2022/23 Turkish Cup finals win. The Puma-produced shirt had the expected dark blue and yellow stripes, but the pattern exhibited an interrupted look on the peripheries as the kit opted to have white standard-cut sleeves and collar.

At first glance, Fener’s 2023/24 away from Puma seemed like a plain lemon-toned shirt with navy logos and collar. But a closer look revealed a repeating pattern based on the ground design of the Altiyol in Kadikoy. A stylised ‘100’ branding at the back below the collar celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.

Relative to recent home kits, the 2022/23 shirt had more richness and fullness to the yellow and navy shades of the traditional striped aesthetics.

The usual blue and yellow stripes appeared as the body’s design, overlaid with abstract outlines of oak leaves. A dark shade of blue covered the raglan sleeves and narrow collar, with the former outfitted with narrow yellow cuffs.

Fenerbahce Away 2021/22 KitThe Fenerbahce Puma away shirt for 2021/22 introduced a modern off-white base, contrasting with the activity and vibrancy of the blue and yellow of the home shirt. A grey camo graphic, the same design found on the sleeves of the Gladbach away, blanketed the front side and the sleeves of the jersey. Like other Puma shirts this season, the angled side seams narrowed the bottom end of the front panel, and a singular slanted trim in blue connected the front and back seams on each side.

Fenerbahce is one of the most successful clubs in Turkey, having won the domestic league more than 20 times, not to mention multiple cup trophies. They form an intense rivalry with Galatasaray, and their derbies are considered to be one of the fiercests in the world, akin to the likes of Celtic-Rangers and Manchester United-Liverpool. As of this writing, the club has never been relegated from Turkish top-flight.

Considering how big the club is now, it’s interesting to note that it was discreetly established by local Kad?köy men Ziya Songülen, Ayetullah Bey and Necip Okaner. They founded Fenerbahce in secret in 1907 so as not to attract attention from the strict Ottoman rule, which did not allow the Turkish youth to set up a club (or even outright engage in the game) played by the English families that was watched in envy.

Some of the notable names to wear the shirt include Pierre van Hooijdonk, Jay-Jay Okocha, Rustu Recber, Ariel Ortega and Nicolas Anelka.
