Manchester City were formed in 1887 and until 1894 played under the name of Ardwick FC. Manchester City play their home games at the Etihad Stadium, Rowsley Street, Manchester. The stadium was built for the 2002 Commonwealth games and was given to the club by the city so that their old ground at Maine Road could be used for development.
