About Football Shirts UK

Football Shirts UK is a guide to football shirts and the complete playing kit: where designs came from, why numbers matter, which players made particular shirts famous, and how each part of the kit fits together.

By the Football Shirts UK editorial team ยท Updated

A long-running football shirts site

Football-shirts.co.uk first went online in the early 2000s, when it listed shirts for hundreds of clubs, countries and players, alongside news about new kits. After several years away, the site has been rebuilt as an editorial guide rather than a shop: fewer pages, each one written to be worth reading in its own right.

Our focus

This site focuses on shirts, kit history and how the whole kit works together. For specialist reviews of boots, grip socks and shin pads, FootballBoots.co.uk covers them in depth. You can also find boot reviews and kit features on the Football Boots YouTube channel.

How we write and check

  • We check historical facts, dates and player details against reliable sources before publishing, and we update pages when things change.
  • Where a fact is disputed or uncertain, we say so rather than picking the more exciting version.
  • We do not claim to have tested products on this site. Where we link to product testing, it is the linked site’s own work.
  • We are not affiliated with any club, league or kit manufacturer. Club and brand names are used to identify shirts and belong to their owners.

Corrections

If you spot an error, especially in a date, a number or a shirt detail, we want to know. Email corrections to contact@football-shirts.co.uk.
